When guests arrived, they were transported into a winter wonderland, awestruck by the majestic grandeur of the castle’s architecture and the promise of a wonderful New Year celebration.
The atmosphere was charged with anticipation and excitement, setting the perfect tone for the day as we began our photography coverage with Zoe’s bridal preparations.
Zoe, radiant in a magnificent sparkly gown, stole the spotlight as she walked down the aisle to Billy, where they tied the knot in a civil ceremony hosted by June of Edinburgh Civil Celebrants, based at City Chambers.
Zoe and Billy’s love was the sweetest; it was palpable and profound, a beacon of hope, joy, and new beginnings, and it was an absolute delight to capture on camera.
Following a fabulous drinks reception, the revelry continued with an address to the haggis, a playful homage to Scottish tradition that had everyone clapping and cheering.
Heartfelt speeches started the most wonderful evening as Zoe and Billy took to the dancefloor for their first dance.
As the clock struck midnight, Zoe and Billy brought in the New Year on the dancefloor, surrounded by the loving embrace of their family and friends.
The energy was palpable, a perfect blend of laughter, cheers and joyous tears as everyone celebrated the newlyweds and the New Year’s arrival.
As the sky darkened, Zoe and Billy led their guests outside for a fireworks display to welcome the new year. Each burst reflected the brightness of Zoe and Billy’s future together.
Just when guests thought the party was over, The Stockbridge Pipe Band began a stirring ‘Beat the Retreat’ ceremony.
The haunting melodies of the bagpipes intertwined with the night air created an atmosphere that made you proud to be Scottish!
And so our day as wedding photographer at Dundas Castle drew to a close.
Zoe and Billy’s wedding wasn’t just an event but a masterpiece of love and happiness, a day that will forever be remembered for its warmth and splendour.
