What a great time I had recently shooting Jo and Al’s The Glasshouse wedding photos. The Glasshouse is a boutique hotel located in Edinburgh city centre and is the perfect setting for Jo and Al’s elopement to Edinburgh.
I’ve previously photographed weddings at The Glasshouse Hotel, and the weather was really sunny, so the ceremonies and photoshoot have taken place outside on the roof garden. Unfortunately for Jo and Al’s wedding day we had torrential rain. No worries, the interior of The Glasshouse has a wonderfully intimate and modern feel which was wonderful for creating photos.
Jo and Al were married in a lovely personal Humanist wedding ceremony. I loved the story of how Jo and Al met and had decided to get married in Scotland. This was a really relaxed ceremony which was a pleasure to photograph.
I love the intimate bar area within The Glasshouse Hotel. With its open-flame fire, it’s a great place to sit and enjoy a wee dram or two. Also a relaxing place for a few newly-wed photos! I also loved the staircase and upper landing area. The window seen in some of the photos is part of the original fascia of the building, which was retained and integrated with the glass and steel modern building making up the rest of the hotel.
As you can see in these The Glasshouse wedding photos, even if it is raining on your wedding day, with the right photographer you can rest assured you will still be able to shoot some great photos. The Glasshouse was a great place to be, a lovely private and tranquil setting right in the middle of a busy city centre.
Congratulations to Jo and Al, I thoroughly enjoyed photographing your wedding day and I look forward to designing a beautiful wedding album for you. I look forward to returning to photograph a wedding at The Glasshouse again in the very near future.
