The story so far
After moving their wedding date and location multiple times due to covid restrictions, the thought of more cancellations or having to reschedule was just too much to take for Aberdonians Lauren and Iain. They decided not to put their lives on hold any longer, which they didn’t make lightly. In their own words, they had crisis talks over wine! They wanted to move forward to the next chapter of their lives together, decided to get married in Edinburgh and asked us to photograph and film their City Chambers civil ceremony.
Pre-ceremony Bride and Groom preparations
Our coverage of the day started with preparations of the bride and groom getting ready at their holiday apartment in the city centre. The mood felt lovely and beautifully relaxed as Lauren and Iain shared a bottle of champagne. They were so relaxing to be around. It was a morning filled with chatting and laughter, we especially enjoyed the moment Iain ‘tickled the ivories’ with his rendition of Des’ree I’m Kissing You on the apartment’s piano.
It was time for Iain to see his beautiful bride for the very first time. Iain waited patiently for Lauren to make her grand entrance. We were positioned to photograph and film Iain’s reaction and their happy ‘first look’ moment.
What an entrance! Lauren looked absolutely sensational in her Morilee gown by Madeline Gardner, bridal cape and stunning silver Givenchy heels. Iain couldn’t have looked happier or more in love! Such a great moment to be cherished forever.
City Chambers civil ceremony
It was great to be back as the photographer at Edinburgh City Chambers, one of our favourite Edinburgh wedding venues. We’re always made to feel so welcome by friendly and professional staff. We’ve had the pleasure of photographing and filming many couples’ elopements and micro-weddings at Edinburgh City Chambers.
Lauren and Iain exchanged marriage vows and rings in a civil marriage ceremony conducted by Edinburgh Council Registrar, Beela Khan. Lauren and Iain made their marriage ceremony more personable by adding their own vows and readings. Lauren did so well to hold back her tears when reading a beautiful quote from Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte.
Newlywed photoshoot in the Old Town
After their marriage ceremony, we used the venue’s fantastic location, right in the heart of the Old Town, for Lauren and Iain’s newlywed photo shoot. They were an absolute pleasure to be around and looked happy and relaxed in front of the camera. At one point, it started to sleet, but that didn’t stop our newlyweds from having fun and beaming with happiness.
Our time as Edinburgh City Chambers photographer for Lauren and Iain came to a close with the newlyweds walking down the historic Royal Mile hand in hand. We had a wonderful day, it was an honour to spend it with such a lovely couple.
