We were delighted to be invited to be Katie and Ross’ Dunglass Estate wedding photographers on their big day in East Lothian.
We met Katie and Ross for a chat over coffee.
It was like meeting old friends; they were so warm and friendly.

Being Dunglass Estate wedding photographers for Katie and Ross was a privilege.
Here are some of our favourite photos from this epic day.
Pre-ceremony bride and groom preparation
We have worked at the beautiful Dunglass Estate for many years and are delighted to be recommended photographers there.
Sunshine, sea views, and love- it doesn’t get much better than that!
Pre-ceremony preparations
Our day as Dunglass estate wedding photographers started with Claire capturing the bridal preparations of the gorgeous bride and her lovely bridesmaids.
Katie was an absolute dream to be around. Her bubbly personality was infectious.
She was a beautiful person, inside and out; Katie looked stunning in her bridal dressing gown.
The girls enjoyed getting ready with a glass of fizz in the hair and makeup bar, a perfect little summer house in the Sea View House garden.
The estate’s luxurious, exclusive-use house offered the perfect retreat for their preparations.
The glam squad for the day was I Do Bridal Hair and makeup artist Amanda Harper.
Jonathon met with groomsman Ross and the boys in one of the estate’s Courtyard Cottages.
Ross was on form, laidback, and without nerves. He looked great in his kilt outfit from McCalls Highlandwear.
We went to Dunglass Church, a 15th-century semi-ruined church in the heart of Dunglass Estate.
The church looked fantastic with fresh flowers from Poppy Floral Design.
As the Piper from Scotia Pipers, dressed in full regalia, warmed up outside the church, we captured photos of the church’s interior.
Ross, his two brothers, his best men, and his ushers were at the church to greet guests as they arrived.
The sweet sound of the violin and guitar entertained guests as they eagerly awaited the bride’s arrival.
Religious ceremony at Dunglass Church
Katie looked sensational in her wedding dress by Justin Alexander from Edinburgh-based dress boutique Gwenne’s Bridal.
Her smile, radiance and beauty filled the church as all eyes were on her.
Our couple were married in a Christian service officiated by Ross’s father, a retired minister.
This made the ceremony even more special for our couple.
The couple’s friends performed lovely readings.
It was official; Katie and Ross were husband and wife!
There was the fabulous flurry of a confetti shower; it’s always so much fun photographing the pure joy of this special moment.
The happy couple were then met with cuddles and kisses of congratulations.
Champagne drinks reception in the Courtyard
Guests went to the gloriously sun-soaked courtyard, enjoying the champagne drinks reception and canapes.
Claire stayed with the guests, capturing candid shots of everyone having fun while Jonathon took our bride and groom for their newlywed photo shoot on the estate’s grounds.
Years of experience as Dunglass Estate wedding photographers means we know the best spots for beautiful newlywed photos.
Speeches and meal in The Pavilion
This day had a lovely, relaxed, fun vibe. Being wedding photographers at Dunglass Estate was a lot of fun!
Before the evening celebrations commenced, the newlyweds spent quality time mingling with their family and friends.
The Pavilion is a luxurious, custom-built space for hosting perfect celebrations.
Wooden tables were beautifully decorated with green foliage, blue hydrangeas and delicate gypsophila.
Unique favours (gifts), created by the bride and groom using delicious Skye gin, sat at each table setting, adding that special, unique touch.
There was much happiness and hilarity as guests enjoyed great speeches from the bride’s father, groomsman Ross, and a stand-up comedy act from his brothers!
There was laughter and a few tears – precisely how it should be at a wedding!
A delicious meal was served for all to enjoy.
Guests dined on delicious burrata, heritage tomatoes and rocket, followed by slow-cooked beef cheek with a smoked butter mash and decadent sticky toffee pudding to finish.
Then a special treat from the bride and groom, espresso martinis for all!
Cake cutting and dancing
The band Corra provided fabulous evening entertainment.
But before hitting the dancefloor, the newlyweds performed their first duty as newlyweds.
They cut their cake – a Colin and Connie caterpillar cake!
Our newlyweds’ first dance song was Life With You by The Proclaimers.
It was perfect and got the party started!
Friends and family joined the dancefloor; seeing everyone together and having such a fantastic time was terrific.
It felt wonderful to capture all this fun, love and emotion through the camera lens as Dunglass estate wedding photographers.
