I recently had the huge pleasure of filming Claire and Brent’s The Barn At Harburn wedding video. I’ve previously filmed at The Barn at Harburn and I love this wonderful wedding venue. Harburn House is an exclusive wedding venue set in its own private estate. Just the sort of wedding venue which is perfect for exquisite filming!
My day began with arriving at Harburn House about 3 hours before the wedding ceremony. For a change, the weather was beautiful and sunny though massive clouds were building on the horizon. Perfect weather for filming a little bit of time-lapse. You can check out the time-lapse sequence here:
After spending around 20 minutes taking enough photos to create the time-lapse footage, it was time to film some of the wedding party preparations. Everyone was pretty relaxed, with the boys getting dressed while quaffing champagne and listening to music. No signs of nerves at all. Upstairs the girls were also nice and relaxed and also enjoying a wee glass of champagne!
The wedding ceremony took place at another location within the Harburn Estate. ‘The Barn at Harburn’ is a former stable which has been converted for use as a ceremony room. Claire and Brent chose to be married at a Humanist wedding ceremony. I love these ceremonies as each one is unique, with the couple writing their own marriage vows. Humanist ceremonies are becoming more and more popular, it’s easy to see why when each couple can create bespoke vows for one another.
We were fortunate that the weather stayed beautiful and sunny for the rest of the day. The guests enjoyed champagne and canapes in the garden of Haymains, making the most of this beautiful and tranquil setting.
Claire and Brent had a few photos taken at The Barn at Harburn, after which we headed back over to Harburn House. I filmed a great entrance to the marquee using my Steadicam rig. Claire and Brent walked towards me as I walked backwards, with family and guests cheering the newly-weds as they entered. A wonderful and unique perspective to one of the highlights of any wedding day!
With the weather being so lovely the wedding breakfast barbecue turned out to be an inspired choice! The speeches took place after the meal, with some cracking one-liners from both Brent and his best man.
My day ended with filming the cutting of the wedding cake, followed by the first few dances. Entertainment for the evening was provided by DJ Lee-Live. I filmed the first few dances using my Steadicam rig, filming some gorgeous shots of the newly-weds dancing.
This was a wonderful wedding day in a beautiful setting. View Claire and Brent’s Harburn House wedding highlights edit, showing all the ‘best bits’ of their wonderful wedding day at The Barn at Harburn.
