Dunglass Estate wedding photos of newlyweds Katie and Tom’s romantic celebration

It’s fantastic to be shooting Katie and Tom’s Dunglass Estate wedding photos.

It’s always nice when I get the opportunity to venture out of Edinburgh.

Dunglass Estate is a beautiful setting for a wedding and is located on the eastern edge of East Lothian, about 40 minutes east of Edinburgh.

Katie and Tom, whom I’ve had the pleasure of meeting several times, are fun to photograph.

We last met for our pre-wedding photography session in Katie’s hometown of North Berwick, East Lothian.

This was my first ever commission to create Dunglass Estate wedding photos.

Set on acres of beautiful private grounds, Dunglass Collegiate Church is a beautiful semi-ruined building, the perfect romantic setting for a wedding.

Tom is an Englishman, but he became a token Scotsman for the day, with all the guys wearing traditional Highland kilt outfits and looking the part for a Scottish wedding!

His beautiful bride, Katie, looked beautiful as she went down the house’s stairs before being escorted arm in arm with her proud dad across to the church.

Tom’s uncle officiated the wedding ceremony, a perfect tribute to such a nice couple.

Dunglass Collegiate Church’s layout meant I could discretely move around and obtain various shots from different angles.

On a sunny day like this, the lighting was pretty decent for such an old building, perfect for shooting beautiful wedding photos.

I spent most of the afternoon capturing natural, candid photos of the guests enjoying themselves, followed by beautiful contemporary wedding photos of the newlyweds.

The rest of the celebrations occurred in the nicest wedding marquee ever.

Big enough to accommodate all 130 of today’s wedding party, with space for a decent-sized dance floor and snazzy sofa seating and bar area, this wasn’t your run-of-the-mill marquee!

I loved taking photos of the speeches, shooting many natural expressions of everyone enjoying themselves.

It was dark by the time the evening celebrations started, but I had time to shoot a few creative pictures of the newlyweds in and around the church, using a single off-camera flash for dramatic lighting.

I ended my coverage of this marvellous wedding day by photographing the newlyweds cutting their wedding cake, followed by ceilidh dancing.

I usually stay until the end of the first three dances. However, the atmosphere was brilliant, and I was getting some really good photos, so I stayed until the end of the fifth or sixth dance!

It’s an amazing Dunglass Estate wedding day at a beautiful venue.
