As a recommended wedding photographer at the Royal College Of Physicians Edinburgh, we’ve been honoured to have seen many wonderful days at this wonderful place in Edinburgh city centre.
So it was with a sense of excitement we prepared to photograph Gill and Iain’s wedding at this exclusive wedding venue.

We’re delighted to share a few of our favourite photos from Gill and Iain’s Royal College Of Physicians Edinburgh wedding.
Bridal preparations
Our day started with a short drive to Corstorphine to take preparation photos of bride Gill at her childhood family home.
With hair and makeup preparations in full flow, everyone was relaxed and in high spirits for the special day.
The house had a lovely, warm, homely feel, full of love, pride and happiness for Gill and Iain’s big day.
The grown-ups sipped on champagne as the makeup artist added the finishing touches, and it was then time for the wedding party to get into their “frocks and kilts”.
Civil ceremony in the New Library
Once we captured those special detailed shots, we went to the Royal College Of Physicians Edinburgh, in Edinburgh’s historic New Town on Queen Street.
The Royal College Of Physicians Edinburgh is a stunning venue that “proudly holds one of the largest medical history collections in the world”.
RCPE has abundant history, style, romance and stunning architecture and was the perfect venue for Gill and Iain’s wedding ceremony and reception.
Guests took to their seats in the impressive New Library.
With his best man by his side, Groom Iain waits patiently for his bride to arrive.
The air was full of excitement as the cream VW camper van arrived at the venue.
There was enough time to capture some group shots of Gill with her parents, bridesmaid and flower girl at the venue’s entrance.
Gill looked simply beautiful in a figure-flattering wedding gown with lace detail.
Gill walked down the aisle hand in hand with her father as a string trio played from the balcony of the New Library.
A civil ceremony then followed as the happy couple exchanged wedding vows.
Champagne reception and newlywed photoshoot
Guests then moved to the Cullen Suite to enjoy a champagne reception with delicious canapes and congratulated the newlyweds.
The newlyweds then went with Jonathon for a photoshoot at the beautifully picturesque Queen’s Street gardens.
During the newlywed photoshoot, I photographed the wedding reception, capturing candid photos of everyone enjoying themselves.
One of the bonuses of hiring us to photograph your wedding is seeing the parts of the day you would usually miss if you only had a single photographer!
Speeches and evening celebrations in the Great Hall
The stunning Great Hall was the grand setting for the couple’s wedding breakfast.
Tables named after some of the couple’s travel destinations were beautifully set with fresh flowers as guests laughed and were treated to humorous speeches from Iain and his best man.
After the delicious wedding breakfast, the happy couple cut their fantastic Orient Express-themed wedding cake and performed their first dance together as husband and wife.
Congratulations, Gill and Iain, on a beautiful wedding day and best wishes for the future!
