Edinburgh Castle Wedding Photographer. View Beautiful Photos Of Ashleigh And Matt’s Day.

Being Ashleigh and Matt’s Edinburgh Castle wedding photographer was one of the highlights of our year.

As a seasoned Scottish photographer, it’s always exciting to return to two of Edinburgh’s best wedding venues in one day!

Beautiful bride Ashleigh and her handsome groom Matt were married at St. Margaret’s Chapel in Edinburgh Castle, Scotland’s top visitor attraction.

They then held their wedding reception nearby at Edinburgh’s luxury 5-star hotel, The Balmoral Hotel.

Jonathon did a fantastic job with our photos and video. He captured the day perfectly! We got a video of the ceremony, speeches and first 3 dances which Jonathon was able to do himself with cameras set up and it was amazing to see after. I highly recommend Love Wedding Photos and Film and will use them in the future for any photographer needs I have.

Jonathon recently photographed our wedding and we couldn't be happier with the results. Our families were also extremely pleased and have been creating montages and framing the photos. Jonathon put us at ease and was professional and friendly and created lots of shots in such a short space of time. The communication before hand and after was great especially as there was last minute changes to our wedding. I would definitely recommend. Many thanks.

Bridal Preparations at the Balmoral Hotel

My coverage of this fabulous day began with photographing the latter stages of beautiful bride Ashleigh and her girls’ preparations at The Balmoral Hotel.

The fizz was flowing, and the atmosphere was great. It was good fun to be there and to photograph the girls.

Groom Matt is a Captain in the British Army, and what better place to get married than one of the best-known British military garrisons, Edinburgh Castle?

A wonderful ceremony was held in St. Margaret’s Chapel, a tiny but exquisite chapel with approximately 22 people.

St Margaret’s Chapel is one of the oldest buildings in Edinburgh, and its history adds to its romance.

Shooting Edinburgh Castle wedding photos is a privilege that never loses its magic, no matter how often you experience it.

As an experienced Edinburgh Castle wedding photographer, capturing a couple’s love story in such an iconic setting is a true joy.

Edinburgh Castle, perched atop its volcanic rock, offers a spectacular backdrop steeped in history, grandeur, and romance.

From the moment you step onto the castle grounds, the sense of occasion is palpable—it’s a place where time seems to stand still.

The castle’s dramatic architecture, cobbled courtyards, and panoramic city views create endless opportunities for breathtaking shots.

Whether it’s the couple sharing a private moment under the grand gates, the light glinting off the historic stone walls, or the sweeping views over the city and beyond to the Firth of Forth, every corner offers something extraordinary.

Sunsets are especially magical, bathing the buildings in golden hues and adding a dreamlike quality to your Edinburgh Castle wedding photos.

As a photographer, the castle’s versatility is unmatched.

The timeless charm of St Margaret’s Chapel, the intimacy of the Crown Square, or the grandeur of the Great Hall all lend themselves to beautiful Edinburgh Castle wedding photos.

Working in such an iconic venue pushes you to be creative while ensuring you do justice to the breathtaking setting and the couple’s vision.

Edinburgh Castle isn’t just a venue for couples—it’s an unforgettable experience.

It’s a place where history and romance collide, creating a fairy-tale atmosphere.

Capturing their love in such a setting is a privilege, and seeing their faces light up as they relive those moments through your lens makes the job truly special.

Edinburgh Castle transforms every wedding into a masterpiece; as a photographer, it’s a joy to bring that magic to life.

After the St. Margaret’s Chapel ceremony, it’s always great to observe the newlyweds being congratulated and cheered by the ever-present tourists visiting Edinburgh Castle daily.

Wedding reception at the Balmoral Hotel

What an exciting wedding day, ending at the Balmoral Hotel, only a few minutes from Edinburgh Castle.

One of Edinburgh’s five-star luxury hotels, The Balmoral, was the perfect setting for the wedding breakfast, speeches, and evening celebrations.

When we left the Balmoral Hotel, a live band played, ensuring the guests would be partying into the night.
