Greenbank Church Wedding Photos

Here are a few of our favourite photos of this wonderful day as Greenbank Church wedding photographer.

The Story Of The Day

Our day as Greenbank Church wedding photographers began with Catriona’s bridal preps at her parents’ house, a home filled with warmth, love and merriment as the girls enjoyed getting ready together.

Catriona looked a vision of beauty in her dream dress, with delicate lace detailing and a timeless silhouette that took everyone’s breath away as she walked down the aisle to Ross.

Greenbank Parish Church, nestled in the heart of Greenbank in the south of Edinburgh, offers a beautifully romantic wedding setting steeped in history for your wedding day. Founded back in 1900, this charming church has gracefully evolved over the decades, joining the Church of Scotland in 1929 and blossoming into the beautiful wedding venue it is today.

Imagine saying “I do” in a setting where historic charm meets modern comfort. The original church building, now one of the elegant church halls, adds character and intimacy to your celebration. With the addition of the spacious Centenary Hall and stylish meeting rooms completed in 2001, Greenbank Church effortlessly blends tradition and contemporary flair for your wedding day.

If you’re dreaming of a wedding venue that tells its own beautiful story, Greenbank Parish Church offers both charm and versatility to make your special day unforgettable.

Standing at the altar, Ross couldn’t take his eyes off his beautiful bride, united in matrimony, surrounded by their family and friends.

Post-ceremony, everyone moved to the wedding reception at the Dalmahoy Hotel, a charming 18th-century Baronial manor house with the perfect canvas for capturing timeless wedding photography.

After the fun and hilarity of the joyful confetti shower, the newlyweds mingled with their lovely guests at a fabulous drinks reception, filling the air with laughter and happy chatter.

Later, we took Catriona and Ross on their newlywed photoshoot on the beautiful grounds of Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club in West Lothian.

Moments like these are an absolute joy to capture. These lovebirds couldn’t stop smiling, and we loved every minute of capturing their love, their connection palpable in every frame.

A wonderful evening of celebration followed in the Dalmahoy Suite, which had been beautifully decorated with elegant floral arrangements. Twinkling lights created a dreamy ambience.

From candid moments during the speeches to the joyous laughter on the dancefloor, every one of our photos tells Catriona and Ross’ story of love and happiness.

Catriona and Ross’s wedding celebration at the Dalmahoy Hotel was a true testament to the timeless beauty of traditional weddings, and we were honoured to be a part of their fantastic day.

We’d love to hear from you if you’re looking for an experienced Greenbank Church wedding photographer to capture beautiful photos of you on your wedding day.

  • wedding photographer at Dundas Castle: a couple wearing wedding attire gazes into each other's eyes and smiles, standing outdoors with a blurred natural background. The man wears a gray suit and green tie; the woman wears a white fur shoulder wrap.

We had a great time and felt so comfortable!

Jonathon and Claire are the loveliest couple… from our very first communication, they made us feel special and were so interested in who we are as people! They tailored everything just for us, and had they not radiated such beauty and kindness, we wouldn’t have even known they were there… and for two people like us who HATE getting photos taken, we had a great time and felt so comfortable!
We got married on 31st December, and they gave up their own celebrations with their families to help us capture ours…
We truly hit the jackpot, and wouldn’t ever trust anyone else to capture our special celebrations and moments!
Please don’t pass up the opportunity on having these two look after your special day! Very trustworthy and fantastic value for money.

Greenbank Parish Church Wedding FAQs

Why should we choose an Edinburgh-based professional for our Greenbank Church wedding photographer?

Being an experienced Greenbank Church wedding photographer means we understand it is a stunning, light-filled space, but capturing its true scale requires a photographer who understands the local geography and the church’s unique layout. Being local wedding photographers based in Edinburgh, we are well-versed in the best angles that respect the sanctity of the ceremony while ensuring the architecture shines. We often suggest taking a short trip to nearby Instagrammable locations in Edinburgh for your couple portraits after the service to give your gallery a mix of classic tradition and city chic.

Can we have a wedding content creator capture our day at Greenbank Church?

Yes, and it’s a fantastic way to bridge the gap between traditional media and instant sharing. Our wedding content creator Edinburgh
service is designed to be completely unobtrusive, capturing those raw, vertical “behind-the-scenes” moments that might otherwise go unseen. You’ll receive a curated bank of behind-the-scenes footage and an edited reel within 24 hours, which is perfect for couples who want to announce their “Just Married” status with professional-quality social media content while waiting for their main gallery.

What are the best spots for wedding photos near Greenbank Parish Church?

The church itself has a lovely, welcoming exterior, but its location in South Edinburgh puts you in a prime position for some iconic backdrops. We often coordinate with couples to stop off at the Hermitage of Braid or Blackford Hill for those sweeping city views. If you are heading to a reception at one of the best castle wedding venues in Scotland, we can plan the travel route to include a few “hidden gem” stops that make your wedding film truly stand out.

How do you handle the lighting and “no-flash” rules common in Edinburgh churches?

Respecting the minister and the service is our top priority. We use high-end, silent-shutter cameras that perform exceptionally well in low light, meaning we don’t need to use distracting flashes during your vows. This “documentary” approach ensures the atmosphere of Greenbank Church remains intimate and sacred. You can see how we handle these delicate lighting situations by browsing our Scottish wedding portfolio.

How quickly will we see our wedding photos after the ceremony?

We know the anticipation is huge, so we don’t keep you waiting. You can expect a “sneak peek” of your Greenbank Church wedding within the next few days. Your full, high-resolution photo gallery is typically delivered in about a week, though it may take up to four weeks during the busiest peak months. For those who can’t wait at all, our content creator service ensures you have beautiful footage on your phone the very next day.
