A Summer Dream: Janey and Connor’s Big Day

We were so lucky to be the Hilton Queensferry wedding photographer for Janey and Connor’s recent celebration. They wanted a day that was “super-relaxed,” and Mother Nature definitely got the memo! We were greeted with unbelievable weather—bright blue skies and not a single cloud. It was the kind of perfect summer day that every bride hopes for when they start pinning ideas to their mood board.

Our morning began at Janey’s parents’ house. There’s a specific kind of energy in a home on a wedding morning—the smell of hairspray and fresh flowers, the pop of champagne corks, and that lovely, fluttery mix of nerves and excitement. Watching Janey and her bridesmaids get ready was a joy; everyone was just so ready for the celebrations to begin. These quiet, intimate moments are exactly what we love to capture, as they tell the “before” story of your journey to the altar.

Groom Prep and That First-Look Feeling

While the girls were finishing their final touches, we headed over to the hotel to catch up with Connor and his groomsmen. Janey and Connor chose to tie the knot in the North Queensferry Suite. If you’re looking for a ceremony space that feels personal and full of life, this is it. They opted for a Humanist ceremony, which was—in a word—perfection. It was funny, deeply emotional, and incredibly personal to them as a couple.

As a Hilton Queensferry wedding photographer, I’m always looking for those “in-between” moments during the vows. In the North Queensferry Suite, the room was just buzzing with natural energy. There was laughter coming from every row, and you could see the sheer pride on the faces of their family and friends. It didn’t feel like a stuffy “hush-hush” ceremony; it felt like a real celebration of two people who are clearly head-over-heels for each other.
