Wedding photos at Mansfield Traquair
Here is a collection of some of our favourite wedding photos at Mansfield Traquair detailing Gemma and Ben’s unique love story, filled with wonderful moments and memories that will last a lifetime.
Mansfield Traquair is a masterpiece of architecture and artistry.
Initially built in the 19th century as a Catholic Apostolic Church, Mansfield Traquair was designed by the renowned architect Sir Robert Rowand Anderson in the Romanesque Revival style.
Its most striking feature is the breathtaking series of murals painted by Phoebe Anna Traquair, one of Scotland’s most celebrated artists.
Her most renowned and monumental work is these vibrant murals, which depict scenes of spirituality, love, and redemption.
They fill the iconic space with 20 years of artistic vision and showcase her deep understanding of symbolism, colour, and storytelling.
The dramatic arches and soft natural light offer countless opportunities for stunning wedding photographs, capturing timeless moments in a romantic atmosphere that is perfect for celebrating love.
We first met Gemma and Ben on their engagement photoshoot at Starbank Park in Edinburgh.
The photoshoot served as a great practice run to help them feel comfortable in front of the camera. Getting to know this lovely couple and learning about their love story, which started nine years ago, made us even more excited about their wedding day.
Our photography coverage began at Gemma’s family home, where the wedding morning unfolded like a dream. The air filled with excitement and joy as everyone busily prepared for the magical day ahead.
We enjoyed working alongside hair stylist Stacey Deane and legendary MUA Rae Mathieson to capture beautiful shots of Gemma.
Gemma looked stunning in her strapless couture gown by Liliana Dabic of La Novia Edinburgh.
Gemma’s old Hollywood glamour hair, sculpted in soft waves and topped with a veil personalised with her and Ben’s initials and wedding date, completed her perfect bridal look.
It was amazing capturing Gemma and her Dad’s first look.
He was bursting with pride and love seeing Gemma in her dress for the very first time, and it still gives us goosebumps!
Gemma and Ben were married in a moving humanist ceremony surrounded by the loveliest family and friends.
There were happy tears, laughter, and a magical moment when friends performed a surprise musical flash mob of violins during the signing of the marriage schedule; all the guests were in complete awe, and it was a delight to capture on camera.
We adored capturing the sweetest end-of-aisle kiss from the newlyweds!
Friends and family congratulated the newlyweds before heading outside Mansfield Traquair for the perfect confetti shower.
A lively drinks reception filled with laughter and cheerful chatter got underway, with Gemma’s lovely Mum getting up to sing.
Meanwhile, Gemma and Ben were whisked off for their fantastic newlywed photoshoot, using the picturesque surroundings of Edinburgh’s New Town as the perfect backdrop.
With its elegant architecture, cobblestone streets, and timeless charm, Edinburgh’s New Town and its proximity made it the ideal location for capturing classic, stylish, and breathtaking newlywed wedding photos at Mansfield Traquair.
They looked utterly in love in their own little world of just married bliss as we captured beautiful imagery to treasure forever.
Back at the venue, attention turned to speeches. Ben’s tender and devoted speech to his wife moved everyone.
Then, the cake cutting is sweet and symbolic before the energy shifts to the romance and precious moment of Gemma and Ben’s first dance as husband and wife.
We felt incredibly grateful for being part of Gemma and Ben’s fabulous day shooting their wedding photos at Mansfield Traquair.
