Royal Musselburgh Golf Course photos of newly married Gillian and Dougie

I was pleased to be asked by Gillian and Dougie to be their Royal Musselburgh Golf Course wedding photographer.

I’d met this lovely couple previously, first at our initial meeting and again at our pre-wedding photoshoot in Edinburgh city centre.

I enjoyed my time with Gillian and Dougie, and knew they would be fun to photograph.

Jonathon did a fantastic job with our photos and video. He captured the day perfectly! We got a video of the ceremony, speeches and first 3 dances which Jonathon was able to do himself with cameras set up and it was amazing to see after. I highly recommend Love Wedding Photos and Film and will use them in the future for any photographer needs I have.

Jonathon recently photographed our wedding and we couldn't be happier with the results. Our families were also extremely pleased and have been creating montages and framing the photos. Jonathon put us at ease and was professional and friendly and created lots of shots in such a short space of time. The communication before hand and after was great especially as there was last minute changes to our wedding. I would definitely recommend. Many thanks.

Royal Musselburgh Golf Course Wedding Photos

A selection of Royal Musselburgh Golf Course wedding photos telling the story of Gillian and Dougie’s day is shared below.

Ceremony at St John’s and King’s Park Church

My day began with covering the arrivals at St John’s and King’s Park Church in Dalkeith.

Dougie was very relaxed, with no sign of nerves, as he greeted the guests outside the church.

Gillian looked beautiful as she arrived with her Dad.

St John’s Church was lovely. There was plenty of space to move around and enough natural light to shoot photos without flash.

After the ceremony, there was an informal receiving line, where the guests congratulated, kissed and hugged the newlyweds outside the church.

This is always an excellent opportunity to shoot informal and natural photos of everyone in good spirits.

The emotions on display are genuine; there is always lots of love and joy, and it’s a key part of the day for any wedding photographer to capture.

Reception at Royal Musselburgh Golf Course

Gillian and Dougie’s wedding reception was held at Royal Musselburgh Golf Course in East Lothian, about a 20-minute drive away.

Shooting Royal Musselburgh Golf Course wedding photos is always fun for an experienced photographer.

The venue offers stunning backdrops, from the lush green fairways to the elegant historic clubhouse.

The natural beauty of the grounds, combined with golden-hour lighting, creates endless opportunities for magical shots.

Capturing couples as they share intimate moments amidst the serene landscape is both satisfying and rewarding.

The venue’s charm lies in its perfect blend of sophistication and tranquillity, offering dramatic skies, sweeping vistas, and romantic nooks.

Every frame tells a story, making it a dream location for creating timeless, breathtaking wedding memories.

Fortunately, the weather stayed fair, and we could shoot the group and newlywed photos outside.

The grounds at this beautiful venue are perfect for whisking newlyweds away for a few photos.

Spending time with Gillian and Dougie during our pre-wedding photoshoot was useful. Our limited time together shooting newlywed photos was spent creating beautiful pictures instead of trying to find out what poses worked best.

We got a few beautiful photos of Gillian and Dougie, which I am sure will be in their wedding album!

The rest of our time together was spent inside Royal Musselburgh Golf Course’s spacious function suite.

Gillian and Dougie were piped to the top table to rapturous applause.

Speeches and toasts followed. I love capturing people’s emotions during this part of the day, and there was plenty of laughter and a few tears, which are always great opportunities for memorable wedding photos.

My day as Royal Musselburgh Golf Course wedding photographer ended with the newlyweds cutting their wedding cake, making a few gift presentations to their parents and the first few dances.

By the time I left, the party was in full swing!

This was a lovely wedding day, and I can’t thank Gillian and Dougie enough for making my role easy by being so relaxed and happy.

Congratulations to Gillian and Dougie, it was great fun being your Royal Musselburgh Golf Course wedding photographer.
