Being Kevin, Ashley, and their beautiful little girl Olivia’s pre-wedding photographer was a lovely experience.
It was great for the family to experience their first professional photoshoot.
The pre-wedding photos session took place in Edinburgh’s Inverleith Park, north of Edinburgh city centre.
I love this location for shooting pre-wedding photos.

Pre-wedding photographer photos
My favourite pre-wedding photos from my shoot with Keven, Ashley and Olivia at Inverleith Park are shared below.
Taking part in a professional photoshoot can be daunting at first.
It’s not natural to stand before a pre-wedding photographer, often the first time you’ve met them, having your photo taken!
For this reason, I can include a pre-wedding photoshoot with any of my photography packages.
Shooting pre-wedding photos at Inverleith Park in Edinburgh is a sheer joy for photographers and couples alike.
Nestled just north of the city centre, this sprawling park offers an idyllic blend of natural beauty and urban charm, making it the perfect backdrop to capture romantic moments ahead of the big day.
One of the park’s greatest treasures is its stunning variety of scenery. From the vast open meadows and tranquil pond to tree-lined pathways and vibrant flower beds, every corner offers a new opportunity for creative and diverse shots.
The Edinburgh skyline, featuring the iconic silhouette of Edinburgh Castle, adds an extra touch of magic—especially at sunset when the warm glow bathes the couple in golden light.
Meeting a pre-wedding photographer for a photoshoot at Inverleith Park is not just about taking pictures but about creating a relaxed, fun environment for the couple.
For many, this might be their first time in front of a professional camera.
The informal outdoor setting helps ease nerves, letting their personalities shine naturally.
It’s also a chance for couples to practice posing, try different angles, and discover what works best for them—all while enjoying a walk through the park.
For photographers, this session is invaluable.
It builds rapport with the couple, allowing you to understand their chemistry and preferences.
They’ll feel more comfortable and confident by the wedding day, leading to even more authentic and beautiful photos.
Inverleith Park’s peaceful atmosphere and stunning backdrops create a magical setting to capture love in its most candid form.
It’s more than a photo session; it’s a memory-making experience that sets the stage for a smooth, joy-filled wedding day, resulting in a gallery of images couples will treasure forever.
All my couples come away from our time together feeling relaxed about having their photos taken on their wedding day.
Inverleith Park is great because it tends not to be too busy when I meet my couples for a photo session.
There’s plenty of space, with beautiful tree-lined avenues and a great view across Edinburgh’s city centre with Edinburgh Castle in the background.
Ashley, Kevin and their beautiful daughter Olivia were completely natural in front of the camera, making my role as a pre-wedding photographer very relaxed and enjoyable.
We took a stroll through Inverleith Park and took advantage of the various avenues and vistas.
It’s been great getting to know Keven and Ashley a little, and I can’t wait for their wedding at Dundas Castle in a few weeks.
**Update – Ashley and Kevin have been married at Dundas Castle since these photos were taken.
