I recently had the pleasure of being Zowie and Stephen’s Orocco Pier wedding photographer.

Orocco Pier is one of South Queensferry’s premier wedding venues, offering some of the best views of the famous Forth Bridge and Forth Road Bridge.

Orocco Pier is also a popular wedding reception venue for couples who have been married on Inchcolm Island in the Firth of Forth estuary.

I met Zowie and Stephen last year at a hotel in Edinburgh city centre, and from our first meeting, I knew they were my kind of couple.

Relaxed, friendly, outgoing, warm and fun. I knew being their Orocco Pier wedding photographer would be fun, and I wasn’t wrong!

We couldn’t have asked for a better photographer than Jonathon (Love Wedding Photos And Film) for our wedding. From the first consultation to the final gallery, they were professional, warm, and incredibly talented. He captured every special moment — the laughter, the little details — with such artistry and care.

On the wedding day, Jonathon blended in effortlessly, making everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera. The photos turned out beyond beautiful — every image tells a story, and we’ll cherish them for a lifetime.

If you’re looking for someone who truly understands how to capture the heart and soul of your wedding, look no further. Jonathon (Love Wedding Photos And Film) is simply amazing!

Jonathon did a fantastic job with our photos and video. He captured the day perfectly! We got a video of the ceremony, speeches and first 3 dances which Jonathon was able to do himself with cameras set up and it was amazing to see after. I highly recommend Love Wedding Photos and Film and will use them in the future for any photographer needs I have.

Jonathon recently photographed our wedding and we couldn't be happier with the results. Our families were also extremely pleased and have been creating montages and framing the photos. Jonathon put us at ease and was professional and friendly and created lots of shots in such a short space of time. The communication before hand and after was great especially as there was last minute changes to our wedding. I would definitely recommend. Many thanks.

Orocco Pier Wedding Photos

Below is a selection of Zowie and Stephen’s Orocco Pier wedding photos, telling the story of their day.

Being an Orocco Pier wedding photographer is a privilege for a seasoned pro like me.

Nestled on the picturesque waterfront in South Queensferry, this venue is a dream for capturing magical moments.

With breathtaking views of the iconic Forth Bridges and the serene Firth of Forth as a backdrop, every frame has the potential to be extraordinary.

The venue’s modern, stylish interiors perfectly complement the historic charm of the surrounding town, offering a mix of settings for stunning shots.

From intimate indoor spaces filled with natural light to the romantic terraces overlooking the water, Orocco Pier is a canvas for creativity.

For couples, it’s the ultimate photo experience—capturing them strolling along the waterfront, sharing private moments with the bridges in the distance, or laughing under a glowing sunset.

The charm of this venue, combined with the energy of a wedding day, makes every shoot unique.

Orocco Pier is a photographer’s paradise for creating timeless, beautiful memories.

I arrived early in the morning to cover the preparations and to look for great locations to shoot the newlywed photos.

Zowie and the girls were relaxed, with no nerves and plenty of good humour, as they got ready.

Stephen and the boys were also relaxed, enjoying a pint before the guests arrived.

The weather was dry, so we headed outdoors to shoot a few photos on the street before the ceremony started.

The affable Ken McMillan conducted the Humanist wedding ceremony.

I love Humanist ceremonies. They’re always relaxed, informal and very personal to each couple.

The newlyweds were piped out by one of the best pipers in the business, Pipe Major Iain Grant.

After congratulating everyone and shooting a few group photos, I whisked the newlyweds away to the end of the pier to shoot a few pictures with the mighty Forth Bridge as an impressive backdrop.

I noticed that most other photographers don’t venture quite as far to shoot the newlywed photos, choosing to stay closer to Orocco Pier.

This is fine, except most photos have boat masts and other distractions fighting for your attention in the images.

I’m glad we went that bit further. The resulting photos are a little better for the effort.

The rest of the day was spent in the beautiful Fuchsia function suite.

There was much fun and laughter (and the odd tear!) during the speeches and toasts.

Coverage of the day ended with me photographing the first few dances.

By the time I left, the party was well underway, with Zowie and Stephen dancing away surrounded by their family and friends.

A fantastic way to end a wonderful day as Orocco Pier wedding photographer!
