Norton House Hotel Wedding Photos

With 20 years of experience as a Norton House Hotel wedding photographer, we’ve built up an impressive portfolio of photos at this beautiful wedding venue. We’re delighted to share a few of our favourite Norton House Hotel wedding photos with you below.

150 Years Of History

The main building was constructed in 1840, though we know little about the first four decades of its life.

However, we know John Usher, from the family that gave its name to the historic Usher’s beer brand in Scotland, purchased the property in 1883.

The Usher family is credited with the beautiful Renaissance porch, which remains a key feature of the site today.

The estate was enlarged early in the 20th century, but the house was not transformed into Norton House Hotel until the 1950s.

In subsequent years, it has become a popular choice for couples to get married.

Just minutes west of Edinburgh, this countryside estate’s history has made it the charming and welcoming place it is today.

Most rooms preserved some, if not all, of the building’s original features.

The Garden Suite

The Garden Suite offers a purpose-built, modern alternative to the main building, complete with a Victorian walled garden and a private terrace.

It can comfortably accommodate 130 people for the ceremony and 130 for the wedding breakfast. Up to 160 people are welcome for an evening reception.

Large windows run from floor to ceiling, flooding the room with light regardless of the weather.

It is an attractive wedding venue, offering photographic opportunities to capture memories of your special day.

For smaller weddings or events, the Garden Suite can be split into two rooms with a bespoke partition that cleverly divides the larger room.

Your wedding ceremony can take place in one of the rooms, and the celebration can move next door, where your meal can be served, and your party can continue.

The Ballroom

Our first events as Norton House Hotel wedding photographers were photographed in the hotel’s historic heart. This room is located in the main building at Norton House Hotel and can accommodate 140 people for the ceremony and 200 people for the reception.

It benefits from high ceilings finished with stunning brass chandeliers.

The private bar adjacent to the Ballroom makes the evening celebrations accessible to move onto, as will the dance floor.

It is a charming and spacious location for a fabulous wedding or civil partnership to begin.

The Verandah

Those seeking a more intimate setting for a romantic wedding will appreciate the Verandah’s size.

Its neutral décor makes it the perfect choice for any wedding theme, and guests can enjoy views of the surrounding gardens.

The Verandah is ideal for smaller ceremonies with up to 40 guests.

Dining arrangements can be made for the same number, with the guest list increasing to 70 for the evening reception if required.

The Patio

If you are looking for a quiet, beautiful, and refined room to say your vows and celebrate with friends and family at your wedding breakfast, look no further than the Patio.

Ideal for ceremonies with up to 40 guests, the Patio features panelled walls, beautiful views of the grounds from the bay window, chandeliers, and other original details.

Couples with wedding breakfast plans for up to 30 guests will find the Patio well-suited to their needs.

Beautiful gardens

The gardens at Norton House Hotel change with the seasons.

As wedding photographers at Norton House Hotel, we photograph couples there every season and appreciate the charming surroundings.

There are seating areas to discover as well – ideal for intimate shots once the ceremony is complete.

At your wedding, we’ll use the beautiful, established gardens to create fantastic newlywed photos you will cherish forever.

We promise to create fabulous photos of you on your big day when you hire us as your Norton House Hotel wedding photographer, but don’t just take our word for it:

  • wedding photographer at Dundas Castle: a couple wearing wedding attire gazes into each other's eyes and smiles, standing outdoors with a blurred natural background. The man wears a gray suit and green tie; the woman wears a white fur shoulder wrap.

We had a great time and felt so comfortable!

Jonathon and Claire are the loveliest couple… from our very first communication, they made us feel special and were so interested in who we are as people! They tailored everything just for us, and had they not radiated such beauty and kindness, we wouldn’t have even known they were there… and for two people like us who HATE getting photos taken, we had a great time and felt so comfortable!
We got married on 31st December, and they gave up their own celebrations with their families to help us capture ours…
We truly hit the jackpot, and wouldn’t ever trust anyone else to capture our special celebrations and moments!
Please don’t pass up the opportunity on having these two look after your special day! Very trustworthy and fantastic value for money.
