I had a great day as Jodie and Jamie’s Carberry Tower wedding photographer.
Jodie and Jamie were married at beautiful Carberry Tower, near Musselburgh, East Lothian.
It was great to be photographing another wonderful wedding in this historic location.

Carberry Tower wedding photographer gallery
The gallery of my favourite Carberry Tower wedding photos here tells the story of Jodie and Jamie’s wedding day.
Carberry Tower, near Edinburgh, is a dream location for any wedding photographer.
Steeped in history and surrounded by 35 acres of idyllic parkland, this 15th-century mansion exudes elegance and charm, making it the perfect backdrop for stunning wedding photos.
As an experienced Carberry Tower wedding photographer, every corner of this fabulous venue offers something unique, from the grandeur of its stone façade to the hidden pathways through its lush grounds.
Capturing the bride and groom under the ancient trees or alongside the beautiful rose garden is pure magic, especially when the golden summer sunlight filters through the leaves.
The interior is equally captivating, with grand fireplaces, opulent staircases, and wood-panelled rooms that lend warmth and character to intimate moments.
What makes Carberry Tower so joyful for photographers is the atmosphere it creates.
Couples are often relaxed, inspired by the beauty around them, and guests are full of smiles, enjoying the setting.
The tower’s blend of regal splendour and natural beauty allows for creative freedom—candid shots during the drinks reception on the lawn or dramatic portraits framed by the estate’s historic grandeur.
Every wedding feels like a fairytale, and as a Carberry Tower wedding photographer, it’s a privilege to capture the love, laughter, and unforgettable memories created in such a magical setting.
I first met Jodie and Jamie at their friends Mel and Al’s wedding and met Jodie three months later to chat about her wedding plans.
It was great to discuss the wedding, and Jodie’s enthusiasm for her wedding day was incredible.
I knew the day would be a joy to photograph and their wedding day would be fun, relaxed and enjoyable.
Bridal preparations in The Library
My coverage of this wedding at Carberry Tower began with the bridal party preparations a couple of hours before the ceremony started.
Jodie and the girls looked relaxed as they enjoyed a glass of fizz in the library while having makeup applied and hair done.
Humanist ceremony in The Chapel
Jodie and Jamie looked so happy as they were married in Carberry Tower’s beautiful Chapel.
Officiated by celebrant Ken McMillan, family and guests loved listening to the story of how Jodie and Jamie met and how we arrived at today’s celebration.
Champagne reception and newlywed photos
It might have rained on the day; however, we were fortunate enough to shoot a few photos in the beautiful grounds of Carberry Tower until the heavens opened.
Jodie and Jamie braved the rain for a few minutes, then we headed back indoors, where the newlyweds mingled with guests and enjoyed a glass of bubbly.
Speeches in The Pavilion
Pipe Major Iain Grant led our newlyweds to the top table within Carberry Tower’s spacious Pavilion.
Speeches followed, with laughter, tears and much applause.
The Piper seen in a few photos is Pipe Major Iain Grant, one of the best Pipers in Scotland and highly recommended for your wedding or event!
An evening reception in The Rose Garden Room
My coverage of this fantastic wedding day ended with the first few dances in the evening.
Top wedding band Northern Star got the party underway, playing a great selection of popular songs to ensure the dance floor was packed.
Jodie and Jamie looked so happy during their wedding day at Carberry Tower.
