After photographing weddings across Scotland for nearly twenty years, you might think we’ve seen it all, but every wedding has its own magic, and being Alicia and James’ wedding photographers at Dunglass Estate was genuinely unforgettable.

From the buzz of the morning prep to the joy-filled celebration, the day unfolded like a beautifully choreographed dance filled with laughter, happy tears, and those little moments that make our job as wedding photographers so rewarding.

One of the most rewarding aspects of being experienced wedding photographers at Dunglass Estate is its sheer variety of settings for shooting beautiful photos.

The 15th-century Gothic church, a focal point of the estate, is atmospheric and intimate.

Its stone walls offer an ethereal backdrop for ceremonies.

Stepping outside the church, Dunglass Estate unveils a world of natural beauty.

The expansive grounds, with their lush greenery and towering trees, provide endless possibilities for fabulous newlywed photos.

The changing seasons only add to the magic—imagine autumn leaves carpeting the ground in rich hues of gold and crimson or vibrant blossoms of spring, adding pops of colour to every frame.

Every angle reveals a postcard-perfect scene, making capturing a couple’s vows at Dunglass Estate feel like stepping into a timeless love story.

The morning bridal preparations are one of our favourite parts of the day.

There’s a certain electricity in the air, an infectious mix of anticipation and excitement.

The summer house was a hive of activity, with bridesmaids chatting while beautiful bride Alicia sat in front of a mirror, her hair stylist perfecting every detail.

These moments are gold for candid photos: the laughter, the looks of pride from Alicia’s lovely Mum, and that quiet pause when she sees herself fully for the first time.

When the time came, the ceremony was nothing short of emotional.

Alicia and James exchanged heartfelt vows that had everyone reaching for tissues.

There’s something so magical about capturing those stolen glances, the way James couldn’t stop smiling as his bride walked down the aisle, and the proud expressions of their families.

These fleeting, unfiltered moments make our role as wedding photographers at Dunglass Estate so special—it’s not just about what you see but what you feel through our images.

Once the “I do’s” were exchanged, the newlyweds were met with warm embraces of congratulations from their guests.

Everyone enjoyed a fabulous drinks reception in the sun-soaked courtyard, where the happy couple enjoyed mingling before some group photos with family and friends.

We whisked Alicia and James away for a little breather—and some stunning newlywed portraits. Taking them to explore the estate on their newlywed photoshoot was so much fun.

Their love for each other is palpable. Whether they’re stealing a quiet laugh, sharing a kiss in the golden glow of the setting sun, or just enjoying the moment together, their emotions are unprompted, candid, and intimate.  

For us, it’s never about forcing couples into stiff or overly styled poses; it’s about capturing them—their love, their connection, and the way they naturally interact in an environment where they can just be themselves in those unscripted moments where the magic can happen, and the photos feel alive.

The evening reception is where the day’s emotions turn into a full-blown celebration!

Funny and heartfelt speeches kick things off with a rollercoaster of happy tears and laughter—heartfelt tributes from loved ones, a few cheeky jokes, and those moments that leave everyone smiling.

Then comes Alicia and James’ romantic first dance, one of the highlights of the evening as they take centre stage in front of their loved ones.
