Wardhill Castle wedding photographer images
Here are some of our favourite Wardhill Castle wedding photos from Corinne and Hank’s sensational day in Scotland.
Located in the picturesque Aberdeenshire countryside with breathtaking views of the Bennachie hilltops, Wardhill Castle offers a blend of historic charm and natural beauty, making it the dreamiest venue for Corinne and Hank’s perfect day.
The castle’s rich history, dating back to the 12th century, is evident in its stunning architecture and timeless elegance.
The lush, manicured gardens burst with seasonal blooms, offering vibrant colours and textures that enhance the venue’s romantic ambience.
Inside, Wardhill Castle continues to impress. The grand halls, adorned with antique furnishings and original artworks, exude a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The large windows flood the rooms with natural light, creating soft, flattering illumination ideal for capturing candid moments and detailed shots.
One of the most delightful aspects of being a Wardhill Castle wedding photographer is discovering the venue’s versatility.
Whether the couple envisions a larger celebration or an intimate gathering like Corinne and Hank’s, the castle’s various areas can accommodate individual preferences.
This adaptability enables creative freedom to capture the big and subtle moments that make each wedding unique.
Moreover, the castle’s secluded location ensures privacy, allowing couples and their guests to immerse themselves fully in the celebration.
This intimacy fosters genuine emotions and interactions, which are the heart of our compelling wedding photography.
Our day of photography coverage started with a gorgeous, laid-back wedding morning.
As Corinne stands before a vintage mirror, applying the final touches to her hair and makeup, the air is filled with anticipation and excitement.
She looks beautiful and radiant. Her long red hair was styled in soft curls and pleats for an elegant updo.
In a nearby room, groom Hank is getting ready. The scent of aged whiskey lingers as he and his groomsmen share a dram, toasting the day ahead. We photograph their camaraderie.
Dressed in a traditional kilt, Hank buttons his waistcoat and ties his bow tie. Taking a steadying breath—excitement, anticipation, and just the slightest edge of nerves- it’s time to see his beautiful bride.
Corinne looked sensational wearing a Maggie Sottero wedding gown. The pearl detail on her cascading train looked divine.
Corinne and Hank had a moving humanist wedding with handfasting, a quaich ceremony and the exchange of rings.
Post-ceremony congratulations and champagne followed. After group photos, we took the happy couple for their newlywed photoshoot.

Wardhill Castle has so much to offer. The combination of historical grandeur, natural beauty, and intimate settings provides endless opportunities to create magical, memorable images.
It was cold and wet outside, but Corinne and Hank were superstars as we photographed them and their sweet love.
Telling Corinne and Hank’s love story as their Wardhill Castle wedding photographer was an absolute delight, filled with heartfelt moments of joy, laughter, and most importantly, love.
Their day was a beautiful celebration, and through our photography, we’ve preserved the magic—images that will transport them back to Scotland and to the unforgettable moments and memories shared with their loved ones.

Wardhill Castle Wedding Photographer: Frequently Asked Questions
Is Wardhill Castle an exclusive-use wedding venue?
Yes, Wardhill Castle is one of the premier exclusive-use castle wedding venues in Scotland, offering total privacy for your celebration. Located in the heart of Aberdeenshire, it allows couples and their guests to enjoy the entire 12th-century estate, making it an ideal choice for a private destination wedding.
What are the best locations for wedding photos at Wardhill Castle?
As an experienced Wardhill Castle wedding photographer, we love the diversity of this venue. The manicured gardens with views of the Bennachie hilltops are perfect for romantic couple portraits. Inside, the grand spiral staircase and the Spanish Room provide a dramatic backdrop for documentary-style wedding photography. For a truly atmospheric shot, the ancient woodland surrounding the castle offers a uniquely Aberdeenshire feel.
Can we have an outdoor wedding ceremony at Wardhill Castle?
Absolutely. Wardhill Castle’s grounds are spectacular for an outdoor ceremony, especially for humanist weddings, which are very popular in Scotland. If the weather is typically Scottish, the grand halls offer a warm, opulent alternative. You can view examples of different ceremony styles in our latest wedding films.
Do you offer both wedding photography and videography at Wardhill Castle?
Yes, we provide combined photography and film packages specifically for Wardhill Castle weddings. Having a single team that understands the castle’s layout and lighting ensures a seamless experience, capturing everything from the morning drams in the library to the evening ceilidh. You can check our wedding photography pricing to see which collection best fits your plans.
Is Wardhill Castle suitable for intimate elopements?
Wardhill is a wonderful choice for smaller celebrations. While it can host larger parties, it has a “home away from home” feel that suits intimate destination elopements perfectly (as seen in Corinne and Hank’s gallery above). For couples looking for similar high-end Scottish venues, we have also worked as a Mar Hall wedding photographer and at the stunning Sherbrooke Castle.
How far in advance should we book an Aberdeenshire wedding photographer?
Popular dates for Scottish castle weddings often book out 18–24 months in advance. Because we only take on a limited number of weddings each year to ensure high-quality storytelling, we recommend checking our availability as soon as you have your date confirmed with Wardhill Castle.
