Here are some of our favourite Melville Castle wedding photos from their fabulous destination wedding.
Melville Castle, located just outside Edinburgh, is a historic gem that exudes elegance and charm, making it an enchanting choice for a wedding venue.
Built in 1791 by renowned architect James Playfair, the castle boasts a rich history as a grand family estate frequented by royalty and aristocrats over the centuries.
Surrounded by 54 acres of lush woodland and manicured gardens, the castle offers a secluded, fairytale-like setting perfect for weddings.
The architecture is a harmonious blend of Gothic and Georgian styles, with its turrets, sweeping staircases, and grand facades providing a majestic backdrop for beautiful Melville Castle wedding photos.
The castle’s opulent interiors—ornate fireplaces, sparkling chandeliers, and elegant period decor—add a timeless romantic touch to your celebration.
For couples seeking magical photos, Melville Castle delivers at every turn.
The grounds offer endless opportunities for stunning shots, from intimate portraits amidst the woodland to sweeping group photos on the pristine lawns.
The River North Esk, which runs through the estate, adds a touch of natural beauty, perfect for dreamy water-side images.
Couples can exchange vows in the castle’s beautiful ceremony rooms or opt for an outdoor setting beneath the canopy of ancient trees.
The softly lit castle transforms into a glowing, romantic haven as day turns to night.
With its historical grandeur, captivating scenery, and luxurious ambience, Melville Castle is not just a venue—it’s a storybook setting where unforgettable memories and breathtaking wedding photos are made.
Our photography coverage began with groom Daniel as he enjoyed getting ready and sipping whiskey with his groomsmen.
The wedding morning bridal prep photos with gorgeous Holly were laid-back and in the loveliest of atmospheres. We captured candid photos of the beautiful bride and her infectious smile.
We adored Holly and Daniel’s ‘first touch,’ a modern wedding twist on the ‘first look,’ in which the bride and groom share a physical connection before the ceremony without seeing each other.
Reaching out, keeping their eyes closed, they held hands. The anticipation and excitement levels hit an all-time high! It was such a joy to capture this magical moment of tenderness.
Holly and Daniel chose a humanist wedding ceremony by Fiona Flanagan.
Their ceremony was fun, emotional, and personal. It included handfasting and a drink from the quaich, symbolising a marital relationship’s unity, blessing, and sanctity.
The weather was perfect for Holly and Daniel’s newlywed photoshoot. Melville Castle does not disappoint; there are many opportunities to capture breathtaking photography on its beautiful grounds.
The evening celebrations took place in the Viscount Room, where the newlyweds dined on a delicious wedding breakfast before partying the night away with ceilidh music and DJ.
We loved every minute of Holly and Daniel’s fantastic day and wish them every happiness and a wonderful future together.
