LGBTQ Wedding Photographer for Rebecca and Becky’s Elopement in Edinburgh

Shooting photos as the most experienced LGBTQ wedding photographer in Edinburgh is always a pleasure.

I was honoured to be invited to photograph Rebecca and Becky’s same-sex elopement wedding in Edinburgh at one of our favourite small wedding venues.

The Alexander Suite at City Chambers is a very popular Edinburgh wedding venue thanks to its central location and beautiful setting.

  • Thank you Jonathon for creating beautiful memories for our special day. I’m not the most relaxed person in front of the camera but you really put us at ease with your professionalism, calmness and organisation. We aren’t too familiar with Edinburgh, but Jonathon managed to match how we wanted our photos to look with the best locations. The pictures that we have of the day are perfect, and they are everything that we wanted them to be. I would recommend to anyone, thank you again.

LGBTQ Wedding Photos

Here are some of our favourite photos from Rebecca and Becky’s LGBTQ wedding and elopement in Edinburgh, captured by us as their LGBTQ wedding photographer.

Why Edinburgh is a great choice for a same-sex wedding

An LGBTQ elopement in Edinburgh is a great choice, offering a perfect blend of romance, history, and inclusivity.

Known for its progressive and welcoming atmosphere, Scotland’s capital embraces love in all its forms, making it an ideal place for couples to celebrate their union.

The city offers a range of venues, from grand historic landmarks to chic modern spaces, allowing every couple to find their perfect match.

Edinburgh’s vibrant LGBTQ+ community and wealth of wedding suppliers experienced in same-sex ceremonies ensure your big day is seamless and tailored to you.

This venue offers a unique charm for couples to tie the knot at the iconic City Chambers on the Royal Mile.

Its elegant Georgian architecture and intimate ceremony rooms create a warm and sophisticated setting for your vows.

After your wedding at Edinburgh City Chambers, you will have endless photo opportunities in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town.

The Royal Mile’s cobblestone streets, historic closes, and sweeping views of the city’s skyline create a stunning, cinematic backdrop for newlywed photos.

Just a short walk away, the striking St Giles’ Cathedral and the romantic Advocates’ Close provide more timeless settings for capturing the magic of your day.

In summer, Edinburgh comes alive with golden light and lush greenery, enhancing the beauty of your photos.

The city’s atmospheric charm and dramatic architecture make for unforgettable images, even in cooler months.

Choosing Edinburgh and City Chambers for your same-sex wedding ensures a day full of love and celebration and provides an enchanting, picture-perfect setting to capture your story.

It’s a city where tradition and modernity blend beautifully, offering everything you need to make your wedding day uniquely yours.

Civil marriage ceremony in The Alexander Suite

The girls arrived together for their wedding at Edinburgh City Chambers, very much in love.

They looked fantastic in their smart suits by King & Allen, with hair and makeup by MHM Styling.

They wore beautiful buttonholes by Narcissus Flowers, adding a vibrant pop of colour.

Rebecca and Becky had planned for it to be just the two of them on their special day, with Melanie from MHM Styling and me as witnesses to the marriage ceremony.

When the girls walked into the ceremony room, they were surprised to be joined by both of their Mums!

Holding hands throughout, ‘The Rebeccas’ exchanged marriage vows and rings.

The girls were beaming with happiness, and the room was filled with love and laughter.

Newlywed photos in the Old Town and Arthur’s Seat

After signing the marriage schedule and being announced as the new ‘Mrs and Mrs’, we took photos of the newlyweds and their Mums outside Edinburgh City Chambers before heading out to shoot a few photos nearby in Edinburgh’s Old Town.

The girls looked fantastic next to their classic car.

We visited Holyrood Park and Arthur’s Seat to photograph the newlyweds. The wow-factor view provided the perfect backdrop for some fabulous photos and was a great way to end our coverage as a LGBTQ wedding photographer.

LGBTQ Wedding Photographer 5 Star Reviews

As an experienced candid wedding photographer, we’re honoured to be a City Chambers recommended photographer and would love to be there on your special day, promising you the very best photos and customer service, but don’t take our word for it:

  • We had a great time and felt so comfortable!

Jonathon and Claire are the loviest couple… from our very first communication they made us feel special and were so interested in who we are as people! They tailored everything just for us, and had they not radiated such beauty and kindness, we wouldn’t have even known they were there… and for two people like us who HATE getting photos taken, we had a great time and felt so comfortable!
We got married on 31st December, and they gave up their own celebrations with their families to help us capture ours…
We truly hit the jackpot, and wouldn’t ever trust anyone else to capture our special celebrations and moments!
Please don’t pass up the opportunity on having these two look after your special day! Very trustworthy and fantastic value for money.
