About Us

Two photographers, one love story

We love learning about our lovely couples, so here’s your opportunity to know a little about us!

Some things are just meant to be! Born in the same Edinburgh hospital, we first crossed paths years later while living in Leith, just a mile away from where we were born. Fast forward to getting married, having three wonderful children, and an energetic doggie, Vinnie the Hungarian Vizsla, and here we are, filming and photographing your love stories and loving life!

Before we swapped pens for cameras, Claire was navigating the world of corporate banking at one of Europe’s biggest banks, and Jonathon was keeping the skies safe in the RAF before running a successful print and graphic design business in Edinburgh. Safe to say, we like a challenge!

The story behind the lens

Why did Jonathon and Claire dive headfirst into wedding photography and videography? Well, like many great love stories, it started with a bit of disappointment. When they tied the knot, they had no clue what to look for in a photographer or videographer. They booked someone, trusted the process, and… let’s say, the results were not frame-worthy. The photos? Too many staged, unnatural ‘old-school, posed’ pictures and very few natural, candid images. The video? An 80-minute snooze-fest taken straight from the camera, with no editing and burned straight to a DVD.

Luckily, Jonathon had studied video editing at college. Armed with those skills (and a desperate need to salvage their wedding memories), he transformed the video into an eminently watchable one. The reaction from friends and family was great, and that sparked a thought—”Maybe I can do this…

Claire and Jonathon further explain their journey in their own words:

“Our journey into the world of wedding photography and videography was solidified when, just a month after we married, it was a love affair enhanced by a single, breathtaking event, viewed through the prism of our own wedding photographer and videographer experience. We were at a friend’s wedding, captivated not just by the couple’s radiant joy but by the fleeting, unscripted moments that whispered their unique love story. The nervous glance and smile before walking down the aisle, the tearful embrace with a proud parent, the burst of laughter during the speeches – these were the raw, authentic emotions that truly resonated and were missing from our photos and video.

That day, we knew we wanted to do more than just take pictures; we wanted to preserve these precious moments, crafting visual legacies that families could cherish for generations. We traded in our everyday camera for professional gear, devoured every photography and videography course we could find, and started assisting established professionals, eager to soak up every ounce of knowledge.

And from that moment on, there was no turning back.

It wasn’t always easy. There were challenges, working in our ‘regular’ jobs during the day while editing photos and videos late into the night, and many moments of self-doubt. But the unwavering belief in the power of storytelling and the deep satisfaction of delivering stunning, emotional memories to happy couples kept us going. Seeing our couple’s faces light up and hearing their fabulous feedback as they relive their wedding day through our photos and films – that’s the reward that fuels our passion and makes every effort worthwhile.

Now, years later, we’ve had the privilege of capturing hundreds of love stories across Scotland. From intimate elopements on the Isle of Skye to grand celebrations in Edinburgh’s historic wedding venues, each wedding is a unique and beautiful adventure. Our commitment is simple: to create timeless, authentic, and emotionally resonant images and films that tell your story in a way that’s as unforgettable as your love. Because your wedding day is more than just a day; it’s the beginning of a beautiful forever, and we’re honoured to be a part of capturing that journey.”

As Jonathon and Claire built their business. They quickly understood why their own wedding memories had fallen flat—suppliers with poor training, subpar equipment, and a severe lack of confidence to create something special. This experience laid the foundation for their business, defining their core values: creativity, professionalism, customer satisfaction, and meticulous attention to detail.

Their mission? To provide couples with timeless and cherished memories of their wedding day.

Fast-forward to now, and their commitment has paid off. Multiple finalists and winners at the Scottish Wedding Awards and Scottish Confetti Wedding Awards—including Photographer of the Year, Creative Photographer of the Year, and Best Videographer—Jonathon and Claire’s journey proves that the right mix of passion, experience, and a little creative problem-solving can turn your wedding day photos and film into a masterpiece.

Why we love what we do

There’s something pretty special about us being surrounded by happy people week in and week out. Whether it’s the emotional vows, the hilarious best man’s speech, or the dance moves that really shouldn’t have made it past the first glass of champagne—we love it all.

Claire works her magic behind the scenes as our expert photo editor, blog writer, and social media guru. Jonathon is our drone pilot, video editor, and website creator. Together, we ensure every frame tells a story as unique as the couples we photograph and film.

We understand weddings can be overwhelming, and choosing the right photographer is a huge decision. But let us share something deeply personal that truly captures why what we do matters so much to us.

One of our beautiful brides reached out to us shortly after her wedding, and what she shared has forever etched itself into our hearts. She told us her beloved grandparent had passed away just weeks after the wedding. Through tears, she expressed how the photos we captured of them together—laughing, hugging, simply sharing a moment—had become her most treasured possessions.

In those images, the love between them was frozen forever, untouched by time, loss, or grief.

These photographs became more than pictures; they became memories she could hold, relive, and cherish deeply every single day. It reminded us—and it’s something we want you to hold onto as you plan your own special day—that these intimate moments, especially with family who might not always be with us, are priceless beyond measure.

Your wedding photos aren’t just images; they are an investment that becomes more precious with time. They’re the heartbeats you can return to, the laughter you can always hear, and the hugs you’ll forever feel. Trust us, investing in a photographer who truly sees and captures these authentic moments will be something you’ll always be grateful for, now and for generations to come.
