Being an experienced photographer who has created a lot of Carberry Tower wedding photos, this venue is an absolute joy.
Capturing a couple’s love story in such a magical setting feels less like a job and more like an adventure.
This stunning 15th-century mansion, nestled in East Lothian’s countryside, offers a perfect blend of historic charm and natural beauty, making it a dream venue for wedding photography.
When you step onto the grounds, you’re surrounded by enchanting backdrops that inspire creativity and romance.
The venue’s elegance is unmatched.
The sweeping driveway leading to the grand facade is perfect for those dramatic arrival shots, while the meticulously landscaped gardens are an oasis for intimate couple portraits.
Carberry Tower is equally breathtaking, with ornate wood-panelled rooms, grand fireplaces, and sweeping staircases that create a timeless, regal feel.
Every corner tells a story, and every detail—the soft light streaming through tall windows or the intricate architectural features—adds depth and atmosphere to photos.
The real fun comes from working with couples in this fairytale-like venue.
Whether capturing a romantic stroll under ancient trees or photographing laughter-filled moments on manicured lawns, every image radiates joy and elegance.
Carberry Tower’s peaceful, secluded setting helps couples feel at ease, resulting in natural, heartfelt images.

Marty looked relaxed and smiled as Christine walked up The Library aisle.
Humanist Celebrant Graham Duff’s ceremony was terrific. He told Christine and Marty how they met and why they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together.
A champagne reception followed, where the numerous guests congratulated the newlyweds.
It was a wonderful opportunity for me to capture lots of candid photos.
In a break with the traditional wedding day format, the speeches took place during the champagne reception.
I love capturing people’s reactions during this part of the day. There was certainly plenty of laughter at the many anecdotes.
Fortunately, the weather was warm and dry, meaning we could use Carberry Tower’s exquisite gardens for the newlyweds’ photo shoot.
Many open spaces, with plush lawns and mature trees, offer the perfect backdrop for beautiful, newlywed photos.

My day at Carberry Tower finished with me photographing the newlyweds being piped to the top table within the marquee.
Another highlight of any wedding day is seeing everyone clapping and cheering as the newlyweds enter!
A piper toast to the newlyweds rounded the day off nicely.
