I’d never had the pleasure of photographing a Barony Castle wedding photos before, so I was looking forward to spending the day with the lovely Emma and Jamie at this fantastic wedding venue near Peebles.
A few weeks ago, Emma, Jamie and I met in Edinburgh for a ‘pre-wedding photoshoot’.
These guys are just made for each other, and it shows in the photos we took.
They are relaxed in front of the camera and a pleasure to photograph.
So, the big day arrived, and I was looking forward to seeing Emma and Jamie and capturing the details of their wedding day.

Barony Castle wedding photos
I want to share a few of my favourite Barony Castle wedding photos with you.
I arrived at Barony Castle in the Scottish Borders nice and early.
I wandered around the grounds, seeking out a few locations where we could create some beautiful newlywed photos after the ceremony.
Because Emma and Jamie were both staying at Barony Castle the night before the wedding, I could spend the two hours before the ceremony shooting photos of the girls and the guys getting ready.
It was a great atmosphere, where you could see the excitement and anticipation building. I knew this would be a wonderful wedding day in this brilliant wedding venue!
Congratulations and champagne followed the lovely civil wedding ceremony.
Fortunately, the weather was perfect for outdoor photography, which we took advantage of by shooting some exquisite photos on the grounds of Barony Castle.
The sun was low in the sky, creating beautiful lighting. Lots of trees and autumnal colours added a gorgeous contrast to Emma’s stunning white wedding dress.
The weather had been wet and fairly miserable all week in the build-up to the wedding.
We were fortunate to have such pleasant afternoon weather, as the gardens at Barony Castle are perfect for shooting striking photos of the newlyweds.
After taking pictures of Emma and Jamie, they returned to their family and friends to relax and enjoy a drink.
I enjoyed photographing and listening to speeches.
Some of the reactions and expressions on the top table faces were a joy to observe and made for some great photos.
My Barony Castle wedding day ended with photographing the first few dances.
It was great to see Emma and Jamie’s wee boy Joseph still awake and dancing away with mum and dad.
Catching up with familiar faces from previous weddings and family photo sessions was also brilliant.
I had the most fantastic day photographing Emma and Jamie’s Barony Castle wedding, and I look forward to returning to this beautiful wedding venue again very soon.
Congratulations to Emma and Jamie. They were a pleasure to photograph.
