We had a wonderful ‘just the two of us wedding’ at City Chambers with Jonathon and Claire. They kindly acted as our witnesses as well as producing wonderful photographs of our special day! When looking for a wedding photographer for our small wedding at the City Chambers in Edinburgh, I came across Love Wedding Photos and Film by chance. They offered a package for the city chambers and this is exactly what we were looking for. Communication prior to the wedding was excellent from Jonathan. We were clear on what we wanted from our photos on the day and Jonathan met our expectations. On the day Jonathan was very kind and you could tell that he knew what he was doing and what locations would look the best in the photographs. We only spent an hour with Jonathan but he made us both feel comfortable.
Turn around on our photos was excellent, we expected to wait about 8 weeks as that seems to be the normal amount of time but our photos were back in under 3 weeks from our wedding date. They are lovely quality and Jonathan did and amazing job of capturing some beautiful pictures of our special day.

Our daughter decided at very short notice that she would like to have her wedding day videoed. We searched around and liked the reviews of Love Wedding Photos and Film. On asking Jonathon if it was at all possible for him to film the wedding we were delighted to find that he was indeed available. We were not disappointed! Jonathon did a wonderful job. He captured the spirit of the entire day from beginning to end. After the wedding the videos arrived: One full length version in very high quality, and a shorter highlight high quality version. We, Americans here, wanted to have a small wedding in Scotland, very simple-no fuss, outdoors with a beautiful backdrop. After hours spent searching online I found a photographer, Jonathon, who I liked his portfolio, quality of work, and he had photographed at the venue we had in mind - Arthur's Seat.

Although we were in two different countries on two different time zones, coordinating our plans with Jonathon was easier than I could have ever thought. As it was an outdoor wedding, we knew the weather would always be an obstacle. Jonathon worked with us as the weekday drew near to ensure the weather was working on our side and we could adjust the weekday if needed. Anytime we had a question or wanted to verify we were still ago, for days the forecast called for rain leading to the Thursday we planned, he was right there to work with us and quick to respond on WhatsApp.

And the best part? His photos. They were absolutely stunning. He made sure to capture the little moments of our small wedding party and of our wedding.

We had a small elopement at the Edinburgh Registrar with two friends as witnesses. Working with Jonathon was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. We did a pre-wedding shoot initially at Cramond beach which was a good way to get used to the unusual experience of getting photographed all day. We have a huge selection of photos in both colour and monochrome to keep. It was a fairly big wedding and they managed to get every guest included in the photos.

Jonathon was the photographer for our wedding at the City Chambers in Edinburgh this summer. Jonathon was great and worked with us to get all of the shots we wanted all down the Royal Mile. Jonathon filmed our micro wedding in November 2020 after being postponed from July. Throughout the COVID pandemic Jonathon and Claire were brilliant, really responsive to emails and nothing seemed too much bother. We originally booked Love Wedding as they provided the added bonus of drone footage which was a must for our venue - by the time our micro wedding came round we didn't think Jonathon would have the time to collect all the required documents and licenses to use the drone - we only had 5weeks notice of the wedding - however on arrival to the venue, Jonathon had arrived early to ensure he was able to catch the drone footage and what an amazing extra to add to our wedding video. Can't thank or recommend this company enough they helped us with last minute changes and were really flexible and understanding - Thanks again guys

I first discovered Love Wedding Photos and Film when a old school friend shared her wedding photos on Instagram. They were amazing, so natural and not heavily edited - which I think can be hard to find these days. At this point we weren't even thinking of getting married but I thought if we ever do, that's who we need to take our photos.

Fast-forward 4 years later and we did decide to get married and Love Wedding Photos and Film were the first booking we made after the venue. I can honestly say it was the best choice we made. From booking in with them, the wedding day itself to getting our photos back, they were so professional and easy to deal with.

We had a super low key, outdoor wedding with just 9 guests. For us, our wedding was about making our relationship legal, in front of our closest family members and when I look at our photos, that's what Jonathon captured perfectly. My husband hates getting his photo taken however, Jonathan's relaxed, laid back style really put him at ease and we managed to get the best happy smiles out of him.

We ordered prints and an album afterwards and the quality of both is fantastic, therefore I would highly recommend these too.

Jonathon was an absolute gem on our wedding day and we would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. He was professional, clever and made everyone feel at ease. The photos were absolutely beautiful. Several family members and friends commented that the photos “looked like they were just out of a magazine”, which was due to Jonathon’s talent and experience. We also received a sneak peek by the next day, and the rest of the photos the following week! I would also like to mention that he provided us a very last minute and very discounted videography (tripod) service as my mom, family and friends were all in Canada due to Covid19. I was concerned that the zoom call would malfunction (which it did!). We were impressed with his editing skills as there was a bit of chatter in the background of the zoom call during the ceremony and he managed to remove pretty well all of it. To sum things up: Jonathon did an all-around brilliant job, we are so pleased with his services and we would certainly recommend him to anyone!

We have just had the most fantastic experience with Jonathon last week at our Edinburgh City Chambers ceremony. We booked with him earlier this year and straight away felt at ease communicating regularly via email. He was happy answering questions at length and never made us feel like we were bothering him, always replying within the day. From the very first contact we had with Claire and Jonathan we felt relaxed and in safe hands. They were responsive and open with us from the start. We're really pleased with the video. To be honest, it was never our idea to get one - we had our arms twisted by my mum - and we sat down to watch it last week expecting to cringe all the way through but were so surprised at how good it was and how pleased we are now to have it! (although I did have to admit to my mum she was right!) The quality is great, the sound's excellent and it's a lovely reminder of the day. We particularly like the way you picked up on our sense of humour and left some funny lines in on the audio. It really feels like the video has been customised for us rather than made-to-formula which I suspect is the case with other companies!

Excellent Wedding Photographer – Jonathon was our wedding photographer in June 2015. Jonathon was really nice and helpful throughout the whole process from the pre-wedding shoot to choosing what photos we wanted for our album. He always had lots of creative ideas. Our photos turned out beautifully and there was a nice mix of formal photos and natural photos. Our album is of the highest quality and everyone we have shown it to has been really impressed. We used Jonathan as a videographer at our wedding in 2011. We were initially worried that we would feel self-conscious at being filmed, but he immediately made us feel at ease. Jonathon did an amazing job at our wedding. On the day, he was a true professional and any fears we had of a videographer being too intrusive were soon gone as he played his role perfectly getting amazing footage whilst blending in. After the day had passed he continued to be spot on, responding quickly to any questions we had, sending over sneak previews and stills very quickly, and then allowing us to input as much/little as we wanted in the run-up to our final video. Jonathon was fantastic to deal with – we felt really relaxed around him on the day. The DVD is great – I’ve no idea how many times I’ve watched it now! We also paid for the disc of still images, which was really worthwhile, some of the images are better than our professional photographers! Some really natural photos and the quality is fantastic. My husband and I were lucky enough to have Jon as a very good friend, so when we got engaged, there was no question as to who we would use to photograph our wedding. Although a friend, he was still extremely professional with us from start to finish – discussing our options with packages, albums, group photos etc. On the day itself, Jon turned up well dressed in plenty of time and was very good at putting people at ease, melting into the background and capturing some truly stunning shots. A lot of the photos were captured without people being aware – these are fantastically natural and a great memento of the day. Although I know very little about cameras, I know that his have produced shots of the highest quality and he has a very good eye as to what will make a good shot. We now have a beautiful Italian cream leather bound album with thick metallic pages filled with fantastic photos as a result. I would not hesitate to recommend him to friends, family or anyone as we are extremely happy with the service and the results of his hard work.

My husband and I loved Jonathon from the moment we met him. We called and left a message as it was a Sunday afternoon and he very quickly called us back which was totally unexpected. He came to our home a few days later with his sample albums which we loved, lots of beautiful pictures and a selection of different options which was fantastic. Jonathon spent a great deal of time with us on the first meeting, we didn't feel that he was looking at his watch to make a dash! He talked us through everything we wanted to know (I had a list of questions to ask which I'd spotted in a wedding mag) and gave us great advice. Jonathon sent us a contract to look over which set out everything we needed to know. We booked him immediately and paid our deposit, settling the final balance a few weeks before our wedding. If we ever had any question to ask Jonathon always replied very quickly which is excellent as weddings get a bit stressful at times. We had access to our wedding album online whilst we were still on honeymoon (and we went straight away), no waiting around for months on end like we know some people have done. The photos are absolutely gorgeous, the colours are so vibrant and every picture is sharp, capturing our special day. We went for a digital package as we like to display our photos in our home but I can say that the albums Jonathon produces are absolutely beautiful. He has also put us in touch with a company that do some fabulous printing options so we just need to pick our favourites now which is going to be hard!! We have just got our disc and it is beautifully presented (I thought it would be a plain CD case but its not!!). We will be booking Jonathon later this year for my PhD graduation and if/when we have little ones. Jonathon is an absolutely lovely man to work with, very professional and we would have no hesitation in recommending him.

We met Jonathon only the once, a year before our wedding as both my husband and I now live in Australia. My wife being Icelandic and me being Swiss, we decided to have our wedding in Edinburgh, as it is right in the middle between Switzerland and Iceland. We wanted to privilege a local photographer to benefit from his local knowledge and were not disappointed by our choice. Jonathon did an outstanding job from A to Z, providing us with high-quality JPEG files, great photo albums and an unexpected 2016 calendar. These photos will be ours forever and we are really happy to have paid the fair but not cheap though not overly expensive price for something that is anyway priceless. The pre-wedding photo-shot at Calton Hill was a bonus we loved, as it adds some unconventional pictures to our wedding memories. We would recommend Jonathon without hesitation for anyone going to have a wedding in Edinburgh, should it be Scottish people or visitors from abroad like us, as communication via email was courteous as well as efficient.

Gave a fantastically professional and personal service. It’s always difficult to be confident when booking a service like this, as “quality” is such a subjective term – Jonathon was reassuringly great from first contact (website and then a meeting to discuss our needs/wants) all the way through the pre-wedding photo shoot, the wedding itself and then, of course, the final pictures themselves. In the lead up to the day, he was prompt and courteous at answering all of our questions; and on the day he operated with a perfect balance of directing us where necessary, and staying out of the way and snapping candid shots – I have no idea how he managed to get some of the ones he did. My husband and I got married at 2pm on Saturday the 26th March and we called Jonathon at around 11am that day!!! Yeah, that’s right!! We had been scammed by a wedding video company who were meant to be coming to video our wedding, my bridesmaid starting making last-minute calls and she was lucky enough to someone as kind and helpful as Jonathon! Jonathon photographed our wedding and we couldn’t have been happier with his work. He was always available via phone, Skype and email during the planning process, put everyone at ease on the day and captured the wedding beautifully.

Considering we were 3,000 miles away and we weren’t able to talk over the telephone, Jonathon took all the worries away by always being responsive via email. Jonathon came and took wonderful photographs for 2 “special” birthday parties for my family in the New Club in Edinburgh. I was worried that a photographer would “take over” the event and make us all feel self-conscious but I need not have worried. Jonathon was so kind and nice to everyone and put us all at our ease. We commissioned Jonathon to take some commercial photographs for our company website at very short notice. He arrived in advance of the time set out for the photo shoot to ensure we had the right area, lighting, backdrop etc. The photos produced were to a very high standard which were provided to us the next morning after the shoot. The team was a group of senior management and Jonathon respected that and was able to build up a good relationship with the group very quickly, I received a lot of comments afterwards to say how nice he was and the shoot went very well. We also received positive feedback from our Marketing Manager who was extremely impressed with the images produced. A photo was published on the company social media page the same day. Jonathon photographed my wedding in June and he was fantastic. He is so experienced and laid back he makes everyone very at ease and comfortable. Jonathon was our wedding photographer a few years ago and we loved our photos so much I asked him to shoot a new bar and restaurant we have recently opened – The Torfin. I was searching for a photographer to take pictures celebrating my husband’s 70th birthday. I had the good fortune to come upon Jonathon’s website and immediately felt that he would be perfect, as family photography is one of his specialist areas.

I was very impressed that he responded very promptly to my initial inquiry and continued to liaise with me very efficiently over the weeks preceding the photo shoot.

We had chosen the Dalmahoy Hotel for the event, a venue which Jonathon knew well and where he was able to select just the perfect backdrops for our photos. There were ten of us in the group, including two small children, but Jonathon put everyone at ease and I can honestly say that it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience which was evident in the final result.

Jonathon photographed our wedding at the Lothian Chambers, Edinburgh, in May.

We contacted Jonathon several months before our wedding, he responded very quickly and our first impression was that he was very friendly and professional. We were both very impressed by his photos on his website and were both keen to have him as our photographer.

On the big day, he turned up to the chambers to meet and greet us and wasted no time to get started taking photos of everyone there. He has taken many photos at the chambers before so not only did he know where the best shots were, but he also helped us in terms of what to do and expect on the day. He did well to settle a few nerves too!

Following the chambers, we headed up to Calton Hill to get more photos. These turned out to be incredible shots that we fell in love with instantly. With his vast knowledge and passion for photography, he wasted no time in getting as many shots in many different locations. This was particularly important as we only had booked a short time with him.

I wanted to set up a surprise engagement shoot with my partner while we were in Edinburgh and had no idea where to start! Jonathon made himself available and we figured out a plan leading up to the shoot (all while dealing with different time zones!). The experience on the day of was amazing! He had some shots in mind and gave us great direction without making it feel like it was unnatural. He even got some great shots of the proposal, which to both of our surprise ended with both me and my fiancee proposing to each other!
