The Caledonian Edinburgh wedding photos
Here is a selection of our favourite photos we created as photographers for Holly and David’s wedding at the Caledonian Hotel.
Bridal preparations
Holly and David’s special day started with photos of Holly’s bridal preparations.
Holly was joined by her bridesmaids, Jen and Sami and maid of honour, Danielle.
Groom David had sent a bottle of champagne with a handwritten message saying to enjoy her morning with the girls and how he couldn’t wait to marry her later that day!
Pre-ceremony drinks in Peacock Alley
Groomsman David and his best man Ben, Usher’s Colin, Dean and Dylan were all on hand to greet guests as they arrived at the hotel.
Looking the part in his kilt, plaid and feather bonnet, Pipe Major Iain Grant welcomed guests to the unmistakable skirl of the bagpipes.
David looked dapper in sharp tailoring, a three-piece suit and bow tie by fashion brand Heart and Dagger.
David was happy and relaxed as he mingled with guests in Peacock Alley whilst Jonathon captured candid photos.
Humanist ceremony in The Boardroom
Guests made their way upstairs to the Boardroom, where they enjoyed listening to some music personally chosen by the bride and groom.
With its oak panelling, the Boardroom is a spacious room with a traditional, warm feel for exchanging marriage vows.
On hearing Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol, guests took their seats, for the bride was on her way!
Holly was a beautiful bride in her dress by bridal couture brand Lucca, a fantastic find from a local charity shop in Stockbridge.
She wore her long auburn hair in soft curls with a flattering crystal headband.
She wore a white feather bolero jacket and held a simple but elegant bridal bouquet of all-white roses, perfect for the wintery time of year.
Holly and David celebrated their love with a beautifully personable and heart-warming Humanist marriage ceremony.
There was pure joy and excitement as they became husband and wife before their nearest and dearest.
Champagne reception in the Castle Lounge
A champagne drinks reception was served in the Castle Lounge area of the hotel.
The fizz was flowing as guests congratulated the newlyweds with their warm embraces.
Guests enjoyed being entertained by the smooth sounds of the piano.
The room was full of love and happiness as the newlyweds mingled and chatted with their guests.
A few group photos of the newlyweds with family and friends were taken at the bottom of the grand staircase.
Group photos completed, Jonathon spent time with Holly and David, capturing cherished moments of the newlyweds and the utter joy of that just married feeling!
Party time in the Castle Suite
A marvellous evening of celebration followed for all to enjoy!
Great speeches and a delicious meal took place in the elegant setting of the Castle Suite, which had been beautifully dressed for the occasion.
Tall silver candelabras and beautiful flowers scented the air with the sweetest aroma.
Cake cutting and one seriously romantic first dance as husband and wife left everyone swooning!
It was indeed a truly magical day as The Caledonian Edinburgh wedding photographer.
