It was my pleasure to film Nicola and Shaun’s recent Royal College Of Physicians Edinburgh wedding reception. This lovely couple were married nearby at Broughton St Mary’s Parish Church. Their reception was held at Royal College Of Physicians Edinburgh.
The weather had cooled down a bit after Friday’s scorcher, which was a bit of a relief! It’s a long day in this job, spending most of it on your feet and always moving around!
For Nicola and Shaun’s wedding, I was filming with multiple full high-definition video cameras. Using multiple cameras ensured comprehensive coverage of the marriage ceremony, speeches and dancing.
Groom Shaun looked pretty good (for an Englishman!) wearing one of the largest sporrans I’ve ever seen. It looked great! Bride Nicola looked gorgeous in her beautiful white wedding dress. Nicola and Shaun’s baby Chloe looked really pretty and cute in her little white gown.
Following the traditional Church of Scotland marriage ceremony, conducted by the lovely Minister Joanne Hood, everyone headed across the city centre to nearby Royal College Of Physicians Edinburgh for the champagne reception.
Royal College Of Physicians Edinburgh venue is very grand and a beautiful place for a wedding reception. It was a stunning backdrop for the photo shoot.
After being piped into the Great Hall, the traditional wedding speeches took place. These were emotional, fun, very entertaining and a pleasure to film.
Following the wedding breakfast and a quick turnaround of the room, Nicola and Shaun cut their delicious looking wedding cake. Following the cake cutting the newly-weds had their first dance. Brilliant wedding band Dakota provided the evening’s entertainment. Dakota had covered some well-known tracks by the time I finished filming for the day.
A great day, great fun to be filming and I’m looking forward to editing the video footage! I always ask couples to choose the music for me to use during the editing process, with a recommendation to not worry about choosing the music they think will ‘fit’ with a wedding film. Bespoke music ensures the final edit is more personal to the newly-weds. I’ve filmed well over one hundred and fifty weddings, and for the first time I’ve been asked to use Billy Idol’s ‘White Wedding’! At last! I can’t wait to use this track, most likely for the introduction chapter of the wedding video!
Shared here with you is a few wedding photos taken straight from Nicola and Shaun’s wedding video. Enjoy!
