What a great day I had being Michelle and Darren’s Eskmills Venue wedding photographer. My coverage of this great wedding day started five minutes away from Eskmills Venue. Michelle was getting ready at her mum’s house, so I covered the latter part of the bridal party preparations. Michelle reminded me she didn’t like having her photos taken. It’s amazing how many times I’m told this by brides-to-be, yet when it comes to creating the photos, my couples always enjoy themselves and remark on how simple and stress-free it was! Michelle looked beautiful and totally relaxed as she got ready to meet her handsome husband-to-be.
Eskmills Venue is a lovely wedding venue in Musselburgh. Originally an old mill, Eskmills Venue has been converted into a state of the art wedding venue. Shortly after my arrival, Groom Darren and his Groomsmen arrived. We had a good laugh taking a few pre-wedding ceremony photos in the grounds and courtyard of Eskmills Venue. Darren was very relaxed and looking forward to seeing Michelle.
Michelle arrived in a gorgeous brand new Rolls Royce. How to arrive in style!
The interfaith wedding ceremony was perfect, with a few nice personal touches adding to the occasion. Michelle and Darren couldn’t stop smiling after it was announced they were married!
Afterwards, we made the most of the gorgeous weather and headed outside for a glass of champagne then started shooting our group photos. I prefer to keep the group photo list fairly short. This gives enough time for me to also spend some time alone with the newly-weds plus time for them to mingle and chat with family and friends. Michelle and Darren arranged for their two dogs to come along to have their photos taken with ‘mum and dad’. This was good fun and the dogs were really well behaved (phew!).
The three of us then headed a 2-minute drive away to create some beautiful contemporary wedding photos by the River Esk. Michelle and Darren were brilliant to photograph, Michelle’s dislike of having her photo taken not showing at all. This couple were great and looked really natural and relaxed.
Back at the wedding reception, the guests were being entertained by magician Kevin Mcmahon. I’ve previously seen Kevin working his magic at a few weddings and he’s really good at amusing the guests with his tricks!
My day ended with coverage of the newly-weds cutting their wedding cake, plus the first few dances. Such a wonderful wedding day in a fantastic and spacious wedding venue, I can’t wait for my next Eskmills Venue wedding.
