The Auld Keep
The Auld Keep allows guests to feel truly at one with the historical heart of this venue. The staircase within the Auld Keep is reminiscent of fairy tales and leads you to the Great Hall. The Stag Chamber within the Auld Keep can accommodate 24 for a candlelit ceremony, complete with authentic armour. Continue up the winding staircase and you emerge on the roof of the Auld Keep, giving you a staggering vista and backdrop for the most impressive wedding photographs, with clear views across to Edinburgh and the three bridges which cross the River Forth.

The Great Hall
The Great Hall, located within The Auld Keep, offers the largest interior wedding ceremony room. The Auld Keep can accommodate 110 for a ceremony. This impressive historical room is dramatic, with its vaulted ceiling and original brickwork. The Great Hall is, without a doubt, a truly romantic wedding location. At night, the Great Hall can be transformed into a dance area for under 75 guests, giving you all the options to unwind and have fun in an impressive setting.

Main Hall and Staircase
The Main Hall and Staircase are the perfect settings for post-ceremony drinks and canapés. Newly-weds make their way down the grand staircase, led by a Pipe Major and the thrilling skirl of bagpipes. What an exciting way to make your grand entrance in front of family and guests! The Main Hall is a great place to cut your wedding cake. Be sure to make the most of this photo opportunity by cutting your cake with Dundas’ antique sword! Smaller weddings can also take advantage of the Main Hall as the perfect setting for your evening reception.

The Croquet Room
The Croquet Room offers medium-sized wedding parties the perfect-sized venue for approximately 80 guests, with a classic and elegant feel. Situated in the Main Castle, the Croquet Room allows you to dine under an impressive chandelier. Feeling cosy with the open fire, yet with plenty of natural light, this room is a photographer’s dream. Your reception photos will look truly stunning when taken in the Croquet Room.
The Pavilion
The Pavilion allows guests of Dundas Castle to blend the outdoors with the interior of the venue, through a contemporary striking marquee. The Pavilion is another unique and dramatic option seating up to 180. At night, romance and enchantment abound as the Pavilion marquee ceiling is lit up with fairy lights and the sides twinkle with LED lighting that can be selected to choose your theme. The atmosphere is fantastic.

Inclement weather usually means indoor photography. Dundas Castle’s Drawing Room and Library are the perfect settings for newly-wed and family photos.
Bedrooms – Main Castle
Continuing with your exclusive use of the castle, you can make use of the luxury overnight accommodation. Dundas Castle offers a wonderful range of accommodation for you and your guests.
In the Main Castle, there are multiple spacious bedrooms, all offering the ideal setting to get ready for the wedding and a comfortable bed to come back to after an evening of dancing and celebration. Between the Main Castle and the Courtyard Cottage and Stables, there are 17 bedrooms able to accommodate up to 37 adults plus extra beds available for children.
The accommodation consists of a range of double and twin rooms. Being light and airy, they offer a perfect place to get ready and enjoy some candid photos of your preparations. Each room has been individually designed and styled with modern, yet classic, luxury in mind. Spoil your guests with crisp, fresh linens, luxury toiletries and even complimentary whisky.

The Boathouse
The Boathouse by the loch is a romantic getaway within the estate of the castle. This spectacular stand-alone accommodation gives newly-weds peace in a naturally stunning environment. Cosy, with beautiful views, it makes the perfect place for your first night as a married couple.
The Billiards Room
The Billiards Room offers a place to chat, drink and be merry before or during the ceremony. The wood-panelling and full-sized snooker table start the day off on the right foot: A chance to calm nerves and relax before a busy day.
