On Friday I had the pleasure of filming Karen and David’s brilliant Balbirnie House wedding. They were married at the award-winning Balbirnie House, Markinch, Fife.
When I got out of bed on Friday morning the weather was miserable and wet. By lunchtime, the clouds had disappeared. It turned into the most beautiful day. Perfect for a romantic wedding day in Fife.
This is the second wedding at Balbirnie House I’ve filmed in the past 6 months. I’m filming a few more weddings at Balbirnie House later this year. Balbirnie House is one of my favourite wedding venues. It offers gorgeous architecture and an opulent interior. The fantastic staff go out of their way to help everyone. Balbirnie House has been VOWS award nominees for the best wedding venue in Scotland. Balbirnie House has also been previous VOWS Industry Award winners.
I arrived at Balbirnie House around ninety minutes before the wedding ceremony. This gives enough time to film a few opening shots of the venue, followed by shots of Groom David and the guests. The civil ceremony was held in The Orangery. The natural daylight in this room is fantastic, ideal for filming the wedding.
After the wedding ceremony, the guests all enjoyed champagne and canapés. There are a few stills from the wedding video shown below, so you can see just how lovely this wedding day was.
The newly-weds were piped to their top table in The Ballroom to huge applause. The speeches took place before the wedding breakfast. The speeches were heartfelt and funny. The Best Man, in particular, having everyone in stitches with his anecdotes about Groom David!
This fantastic day ended with me filming the first few dances of the evening celebration. Balbirnie’s Ballroom has the most amazing dance floor, lit by thousands of twinkling LED star lights. These lights cast a lovely light onto the newly-weds’ faces as they performed their first dance.
What a wonderful wedding day which was enjoyed by all. I’m really looking forward to editing this wedding video.
